Your account

You need to be at least 16 to create an account. Keep your email account secure: whoever can open the sign-in links we send can use your Hot Spots account.

You can delete your account at any time from Your account on the website or the Account screen in the apps. What deletion removes is described in the privacy policy.

Memberships

Some springs, and some features, are for members. The plans and their website prices are listed at the end of these terms. Prices in the App Store and on Google Play are set in those stores and shown there before you buy.

A renewing plan renews automatically at the end of each period at the same price, unless you cancel before it renews. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. A lifetime membership is a single payment for access for as long as Hot Spots operates and your account exists; it never renews.

Cancel a website membership from Your account, under Manage billing. Cancel an App Store subscription in your device's Settings, and a Google Play subscription in the Play Store. Deleting your account ends a website membership but cannot cancel a store subscription. A membership of any kind, lifetime access included, belongs to the account it was bought for: it ends when that account is deleted and cannot be moved to another.

If we change the price of a renewing plan, we will tell you before it applies, and you can cancel before you are charged the new price.

Refunds are covered by the refund policy.

What you post

You keep ownership of the springs, photos, posts and reviews you add. You give Hot Spots a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt and distribute them as part of the service, which continues for springs that have been approved and listed even if you later delete your account.

Only post what you have the right to share and what is accurate as far as you know. Do not post anything unlawful, hateful, harassing, sexual, or that invades someone's privacy, and do not share the location of a spring on private land without the owner's permission or encourage anyone to trespass.

Springs you submit are reviewed before they appear. Discussion posts, replies and ratings appear as soon as you post them. We may edit, decline or remove anything that breaks these terms.

Hot springs are dangerous

Natural hot water can scald, carry harmful organisms and sit in remote, hazardous places. Listings are compiled from many sources and from other people's reports, and they are not field-verified: temperatures, access, conditions, rules and ownership change. Test the water before you get in, check current conditions and land status yourself, and do not rely on Hot Spots for your safety.

Your use of any spring is at your own risk. Hot Spots does not own, operate or inspect the springs it lists.

Using Hot Spots

Use Hot Spots for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Do not copy the catalogue in bulk, scrape it, resell it, or try to get around the membership or the security of the service.

Some listings contain data from OpenStreetMap, © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. That data remains under its own licence.

Our responsibility

We work to keep Hot Spots accurate and available, but we provide it as it is and cannot promise it will always be complete, correct or uninterrupted.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes and disputes

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will update the date above and tell you before it takes effect; continuing to use Hot Spots after that means you accept the new terms.

If something goes wrong, contact us first and we will try to resolve it. These terms are governed by the law that applies where Hot Spots is operated, without taking away the protection of the law where you live.
